Harry Potter...Turkey...Bring it on!

Call me a pedophile but Daniel Radcliff is a hottie. It's official, Harry Potter rocks my world.
For American Thanksgiving, I was invited to a small gathering by some Fulbright researchers, and MY GOD was it a feast! Mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, string beans, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, apple pie, chocolate cake and a real TURKEY... and it didn't even taste like curry! What a fucking fantastic meal.
Recently I have sort of been pulled off the credit cooperative project, which makes a lot of sense because the one required skill is Marathi. Now I focus my time on the bamboo handicraft income generation project, which is great. I provide marketing support and develop business skills for the community girls. The girls are super sweet and they are really warming up to me. Iam teaching them how to use the computer, and they are loving it.
So things are going well, we are discussing a possible extension on my contract. I guess I wouldn't mind staying another couple of months if they have meaningful work for me. We'll see.

Doodoodoo, Doodoodoo, Doot doot doot (don't you know the harry potter theme song?)

Number of visitors: 0
Indian Express Articles with a god awful picture of me: 1
Days until Harry Potter: 2

Goodbye Justin, Kate, Katie… hope Egypt treats you well….. *tear*
But alas, life must go on, and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be fabulous. On Friday, we checked out a club in Colaba called Polly Esther (reminiscent of a club in Montreal back in the days of French Camp at Bois-du-Boulogne). It just so happens to be retro 80’s night. It’s no Mardi Café Campus, and though without Tall Guy, there were definitely some interesting dancers to keep me entertained. Strogey, Whitey, Chris, John, April, Carrie, Curry and the rest of the Caca Crew: I requested Like a Prayer, you would have been proud.
With regards to a certain article in the local newspaper, which I am refusing to scan, 3 other foreigners and myself talked about what brought us to work in India. It’s a nice little story and all, if it wasn’t for a "glamour-shot-gone-horribly-wrong" photo of me… just another Bridget Jones moment in my life.
Am so excited about the release of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Really wish I could get ready for it by having a HP marathon with a Coco Rico whole chicken!

Eat Sleep and Goa

Just spent an amazing week on the beautiful Palolem Beach of Goa, complete with perfect weather and fantastic company. Kate, Katie, Justin and I stayed in huts at the quiet end of the beach, just lazing around in chairs hanging off palm trees. The days mainly consisted of sleeping in, eating at seaside restaurants, swimming, reading, tanning in the sun, having a drink, napping, and catching up in general - yeah I know, it's hard to be me sometimes. A few of my AIESEC friends were up in Palolem at the same time, and it was great to meet up and hang out. We managed to get off the beach one day to explore the churches and rotting bodies of saints in Old Goa, where I very inappropriately suggested a game of 20 questions Guess Who? of martyrs and Saints. How fitting coming from the rebel of Jesus Camp.
So now we are back in Bombay, and I'm back in the office (with a crazy pigeon fluttering around in the room, how the fcuk did it get in here?)
I'll be spending the next few days showing my visitors around my city, and doing a few touristy things myself.
Happy Birthday shout out to Chris Haskim, whose birthday is in fact not November 3rd. I will call Saturday night Montreal time to wish you a happy bday for real.
Okay, gotta go, must devise a plan to chase this crazy pigeon outta here!
